This alphabet snake activity encourages learners to order the (lowercase) letters of the alphabet, starting with 'a' at the snake's head and the following the twisty body 's' shape down to the tail, ending with 'z'. Learners turn the wheel, say what the picture is showing e.g. 'monkey' then the initial sound for that picture - 'mmm'. As they turn the wheel learners may be able to predict which sound will be next, learners could also turn the wheel anticlockwise and see if they can recall the alphabet sounds backwards!
